Sarah Vakharia, LEP
Southern California Regional Manager
Licensed Educational Psychologist #3779
Pupil Personnel Services Credential (Clear)
Sarah has a passion for working with children and has been helping children find success throughout her graduate work and career as an Educational Psychologist and consultant. During her undergraduate work, Sarah worked as a bereavement counselor for students who had experienced loss. This experience lead her to pursue a graduate degree in School Psychology in order to have a more widespread impact on children in need.
After completing her graduate work in 2006, she began her career as a School Psychologist working in both rural and urban school districts in Ohio. She worked with students from preschool through 12th grade. As a School Psychologist, her focus was on developing early intervention programs and developing preventative systems of academic and behavioral support for students. Sarah also provided counseling supports and conducted academic and behavioral assessments in order to support teams in working through the special education evaluation process.
In addition to working in school settings, Sarah has designed and lead online courses for educational staff on school-wide positive behavior intervention strategies (SWPBIS), functional behavior assessment (FBA), writing measurable Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and how to support students with intense academic and behavioral needs through research-based intervention. She has also traveled nationally and internationally as an Educational Consultant to train staff and provide on-site coaching to teams on developing effect behavioral systems and how to increase academic success with students through a multi-tiered system of support.
Sarah moved to California in 2016 and pursued her Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential, as well as the credentials needed to be a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) in the state of California. She completed both of these in 2017 and has been working as an educational contractor since November, 2017 conducting psycho-educational assessments for the public schools.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys running, yoga and spending time with her husband and two children exploring the outdoors! They enjoy biking, hiking and traveling up and down the coast together.
