PPS Counseling and Psychology, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and Administrative Credential

Diana has been fortunate to work in education since 1993. She began her career as an instructional assistant in a special education preschool class. With encouragement from the teacher she pursued and received her teaching credential. After teaching for a few years she returned to school for a Masters degree in School Counseling. She was a middle school counselor at a school on the border of Mexico. At this middle school she interned under the school psychologist and obtained another Masters degree in Educational Psychology.

Experience in Preschool to Post-Secondary

Diana has worked as a school psychologist in numerous settings from preschool to post-secondary. She has worked in small school districts and large school districts from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. In Las Vegas she was the District Crisis Team Leader. This required being on call 24/7 and responding to various crisis situations daily. In addition she authored the district crisis manual and provided various trainings to staff and students. She is also a crisis trainer for the National Association of School Psychologists.

Specializations in Emotional Disturbance & Autism

Diana currently works with students in residential placements and non-public schools. Although seasoned in all areas of assessment she specializes in Emotional Disturbance and Autism.

20 Years+ Counseling Experience

In addition to 20+ years of experience in the field of special education, Diana enjoys providing counseling services to students, teaching social skills, and encouraging students to include others through group counseling.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Diana enjoys pilates, watching US Men’s National Team soccer, and running and hiking with her rescue dog in the Bay Area.
